A Narrative Essay On How I Spent My Last Holiday (Example)

Last holiday is among the best holidays that I’ve ever had. It all began straight after our third term exams. I felt very happy because I was in need of respite from all the school stress and also from all the early morning arrangements. My parents also undertook to make it enjoyable for me if I passed my exams.

In the first few days I was resting. I watched movies, slept a lot and played games on my brother’s phone. I also helped my mom in the kitchen and did some chores around the house. After a week my cousins came from Abuja to visit us. That was when the real fun began.

We went to the field near our house to play football every evening. Sometimes we would go to the stream next door to swim and get water. It made me think of when we were younger.

We did not enjoy swimming for a long time because my mom didn’t like it.

I found it very interesting that my dad invited us all to travel to Olumo Rock in Abeokuta. I was a little unsure the first time I climbed the rock, yet I got past my fear to finish the climb.

I took a lot of pictures because the view was beautiful. We decided to buy snacks and local beads from the people on the Beach. It was awesome.

As the holiday was ending I started preparing for the next term.

I assisted my younger sister in her holiday assignment and sorted out my books. My parents went and bought me a new school bag and some new shoes. I felt excited and was ready to go back to school.

Conclusion

In summary, my last holiday was really enjoyable to me. It was filled with fun, laughter, as well as family bonding. I wish that my next holiday would be better—even better!

A narrative essay does not have to be true, but you must know how to narrate a story as if you were there or you were an eyewitness.
